The lessons learned begins…

Some things we learned today:

After some new reading and youtube videos, we learned a bit more about making sales funnels. Our newby method of get traffic>send hoplink is apparently VERY unsuccessful. AMATEUR HOUR! We’ll be working on more capture pages and curiosity based headlines, linking those to bridgepages, and THEN the hoplink… dialing it in so see what works.

Learned an SEO tip pertaining to blogs, if you edit a blog post, it effectively refreshes it for searchable terms. I guess that is considered “white hat”, and there are companies that do it for bloggers.

The Google Ads campaign is bearing some fruit for impressions. We will be managing the search phrases to try to optimize, we also have to learn more about that…

Is there a way to find out if a product/service does affiliate marketing if not obvious from their website? Would we propose this to a service we use and like? I would think if we had more traffic it would be a selling point for them to use us. More to work on!

Thinking about making our own product. I work in a pretty specific part of the the tech industry, and in growing demand, maybe a beginner’s guide PDF on how to get into the industry is a good idea. I could make a blog for it to get traffic and release it as a supplement?

We are re-evaluating and still looking for a few more good products, Clickbank is helpful with the filters and gravity seems to be the way to sort.

Well we will see what tomorrow brings! Lots of homework to help this business venture to take off. A good Henry David Thoreau Quote: “The cost of a thing is the amount of what I will call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run.”

And so it begins…

Today we started our adventure. We learned about affiliate marketing from our searches to find how we could start generating passive income online, as well as promoting new and interesting products. The goal of this blog is to document our journey, be it success or failures, and learn from them. As Admiral Rickover, Father of the US Nuclear Navy, said, “Success teaches us nothing; only failure teaches.”  As much as we want to succeed, we’re sure to learn a lot from failures.

Our first ad campaign is for an Affiliate Marketer John Crestani’s Classes. John Crestani is an internationally-renowned expert in affiliate marketing. We watch a lot of his youtube videos to learn what we can from an experienced marketer. “There is so compression algorithm for experience…” Andy Jassy CEO AWS. We set up an email campaign in three markets to funnel interest, and then they can get the link to Thursday’s class upon request.

Our second campaign, we set up today with traffic being generated by Google Ad Words. It is for a Red Tea Detox product we feel would do well in a health conscious market, Los Angeles, California. Google Ad Words was pretty easy to set up, and matched our budget well. Hopefully we bear some fruitful results there!

So after getting both campaigns set up, it is difficult not to obsessively check on the campaigns. It will be interesting to see how the ads work, and how we can dial in the marketing to a best fit target. Until then, we’ll keep enjoying this awesome weekend, and continue learning what we can about how to improve our levels of knowledge in affiliate marketing.
